Wortmanworks is a media and marketing firm based in Nashville with over 20 years combined experience positioning, publicizing and promoting some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

We were very excited when Wortmanworks contacted us about designing their website. This was a great opportunity to design without the restrictions we often face. After an evaluation with Jules Wortman and Kristin Palmer we learned that they wanted to portray a modern, “in-your-face” attitude but at the same time remain somewhat mature and minimalist in style.

The Design

We chose to go with somewhat of a grungy style. We based the color scheme from the logo and the previously established brand. We tried to incorporate the gear graphic, from the logo, as the defining boundary for content areas. Wortmanwork’s out-of-the-box strategies where illustrated by a distressed banner image of a light bulb along with a collection of quotes from famous individuals known for their creativity and ideas.

The Features

Wortmanworks.com was built with user-friendliness and scalability in mind. The latest web standards were used to ensure cross-browser compatibility and search engine optimization. We created an XML fed flash banner animation for easy updating. This banner also keeps track of which quotes have been displayed to prevent back-to-back repetition. An animated anchor linking script was added to add a bit of fun and interaction to the “clients” page. We also integrated a Wordpress blog and themed it seamlessly with the rest of the site.
